The Role
As a Stroke Consultant, you will be a key part of a dynamic and experienced team, working closely with specialists across Neurology, Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Critical Care to deliver the highest standards of patient care. You will also contribute to a comprehensive TIA service, running daily with seven-day access to vascular imaging and neuroradiology.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing expert stroke care to a diverse population of around 1400 stroke patients per year.
- Leading and supporting a multidisciplinary team, including junior doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Allied Health Professionals.
- Collaborating with a dedicated Neuroradiology team and Vascular Surgery Unit to ensure rapid intervention and treatment.
- Contributing to research and teaching, with opportunities for professional development.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- MBBS/MBCH qualification and MRCP
- Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
- Minimum 5 years’ supervised training in an appropriate StR equivalent training programme, with expertise in Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Stroke Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatrics
- Experience in audit, management, and teaching
Desirable Criteria:
- CCT in Stroke Medicine or Neurology
- Higher Degree (MD/PhD)
- GCP Certification and experience enrolling patients in clinical trials
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
