Everpool Recruitment is working in partnership with Serco to recruit WCA Functional Assessors in Bournemouth.
This is an opportunity to take your clinical career in a new direction, moving into a specialist assessment role where you’ll use your knowledge and professional judgement to understand how health conditions affect an individual’s everyday functioning and ability to work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structured consultations and gathering detailed medical histories.
- Reviewing medical evidence and considering an individual’s health circumstances.
- Exploring the physical, mental and cognitive impact of health conditions.
- Applying clinical reasoning and professional judgement to assess functional ability.
- Producing detailed, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.
What could your working week look like?
- Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
- No nights, weekends or bank holidays.
- Hybrid working, combining home and office-based work.

- Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
- Occupational Therapists.
- Physiotherapists.
Essential requirements:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
Salary: £42,000 increasing to £43,000 after 12 months
Location: Bourenmouth
