Everpool Recruitment is working in partnership with Serco to recruit WCA Functional Assessors in Lewes.
This is an opportunity to step away from hands-on clinical care and move into a structured assessment role where your clinical reasoning, professional judgement and experience are genuinely valued.
What does the role involve? As a WCA Functional Assessor, you will assess how an individual’s health conditions or disabilities affect their ability to work or undertake work-related activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Conducting structured assessments with individuals experiencing a range of physical and mental health conditions.
- Exploring the functional impact of health conditions on everyday activities and working capability.
- Applying your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess functional ability.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.

- Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
- Occupational Therapists.

Essential requirements:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
