Everpool Recruitment is working in partnership with Serco to recruit PIP Disability Assessors in Bournemouth.
This is an opportunity to move away from hands-on clinical work while continuing to use your professional experience, clinical reasoning and assessment skills in a structured, rewarding role.
The role:
Salary: £40,000 increasing to £42,000 after 12 months
Location: Bournemouth
As a PIP Disability Assessor, you will conduct consultations with individuals living with a range of health conditions and disabilities, assessing how their circumstances affect their daily living and mobility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Conducting structured telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
- Exploring how physical and mental health conditions affect everyday activities.
- Applying your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess functional ability.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.

Training and development
You don’t need previous Functional Assessor experience. Serco provides a comprehensive, fully paid training programme designed to develop your assessment skills and prepare you for the role.
You will receive ongoing support from experienced colleagues, clinical coaches and dedicated training teams.

To be considered, you must have:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC or GPhC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
