This is an opportunity to step away from hands-on clinical care while continuing to use your knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement in a rewarding, structured role.
What’s the role all about?
As a PIP Disability Assessor, you will carry out assessments with individuals living with a range of physical and mental health conditions, exploring how their health impacts their daily living and mobility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Conducting structured telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
- Exploring the impact of health conditions on everyday activities.
- Using your clinical knowledge and reasoning to assess functional ability.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.

Essential requirements:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC or GPhC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
