The Role As a Functional Assessor, you’ll use your clinical knowledge to assess how an individual’s health condition affects their daily life and work capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting telephone and face-to-face assessments
- Reviewing medical evidence and health questionnaires
- Evaluating daily living and functional abilities
- Producing detailed, objective reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
Assessment Volumes PIP Functional Assessor
- Approximately 3 assessments per day
- Starting salary: £45,000
WCA Functional Assessor
- Approximately 5-6 shorter assessments per day
- Starting salary: £48,000
Please note that role availability varies by location and business requirements. Candidates should ideally be open to either pathway, though specific preferences may be accommodated where possible.
Comprehensive Training Provided Successful candidates will complete a fully supported 12-week training programme, covering:
- Assessment methodologies and best practice
- DWP requirements and guidance
- Report writing and evidence-based decision making
- Quality standards and professional development
Who We’re Looking For We are actively seeking:
- Registered Adult Nurses (Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disability or General)
- Occupational Therapists (Adult-focused)
- Physiotherapists (Adult-focused)
- Paramedics (Adult-focused)
- Pharmacists (Adult-focused)
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 1 year post-registration experience in a relevant adult clinical setting
- At least 1 year of active professional registration
- Strong communication and assessment skills
- Good IT and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and professionally
