What will you be doing?
As a WCA Functional Assessor, you’ll assess how an individual’s physical and mental health conditions affect their ability to work or undertake work-related activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Conducting structured assessments with individuals experiencing a range of health conditions.
- Exploring the impact of physical and mental health conditions on everyday functioning.
- Using your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess functional ability.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.

- Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD).

Essential requirements:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
