We’re recruiting for PIP Disability Assessors in Southampton, offering the opportunity to move away from hands-on care while continuing to use your clinical knowledge and professional judgement.
Working on behalf of the DWP, you’ll assess how health conditions and disabilities affect an individual’s daily living and mobility, reviewing medical evidence, conducting assessments and producing factual reports.
No previous assessor experience required – comprehensive training and ongoing clinical support provided.

- Salary: £40,000 increasing to £42,000

What Will You Be Doing?
- Conducting telephone, face-to-face and online assessments
- Exploring how physical, mental health and cognitive conditions affect daily living and mobility
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering clinical histories
- Applying clinical reasoning and professional judgement
- Producing accurate, objective and evidence-based reports for the DWP
- This is not a hands-on treatment role. You’ll focus on assessment, analysis and report writing rather than diagnosing or treating patients.
Who Can Apply? We’re looking for:
- NMC-registered Nurses (RGN, RMN and RNLD)
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists
- HCPC-registered Paramedics
- GPhC-registered Pharmacists
- At least 12 months of relevant UK post-registration clinical experience
- Active, unrestricted professional registration
- Full UK right to work required. Sponsorship is not available.
