Everpool Recruitment is working in partnership with Serco to recruit WCA Functional Assessors in Slough.
This is an opportunity to use your existing clinical knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement in a new and rewarding role, without the pressures of traditional frontline healthcare.
What does the role involve? As a WCA Functional Assessor, you will assess how an individual’s health conditions or disabilities affect their ability to work or undertake work-related activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing medical evidence and gathering relevant clinical information.
- Conducting structured assessments with individuals experiencing a range of physical and mental health conditions.
- Exploring how health conditions affect an individual’s functional ability and everyday activities.
- Applying your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess work-related capability.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
- Providing objective clinical information to support the DWP’s decision-making process.

No Functional Assessor experience? No problem! Serco provides a comprehensive, fully paid training programme to help you transition into the role and develop the specialist assessment skills required.

Who are we looking for? We welcome applications from:
- Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD).
- Occupational Therapists.
- Physiotherapists.
Essential requirements:
- Full, active and unrestricted NMC or HCPC registration.
- At least 12 months’ post-registration UK clinical experience.
- Relevant experience working with adults.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
