Your Clinical Experience Deserves a New Direction! Ready to step away from the pressures of frontline healthcare without giving up the clinical career you’ve worked hard to build?
If you’re looking for more predictable hours, a better work-life balance and a fresh professional challenge, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
We’re recruiting Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Paramedics and Pharmacists to join Serco as PIP Disability Assessors in Guildford.
You’ll continue making a difference by using your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to understand how health conditions affect people’s everyday lives, but without the demands of hands-on care or shift work.
What Will Your Role Involve?
As a PIP Disability Assessor, you’ll conduct Personal Independence Payment assessments, exploring how an individual’s physical or mental health conditions affect their daily living and mobility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out structured assessments with individuals experiencing a range of physical and mental health conditions.
- Gathering detailed medical histories and understanding their current circumstances.
- Exploring how health conditions affect daily activities, personal care and mobility.
- Reviewing medical evidence and considering the information available.
- Applying clinical reasoning and professional judgement to assess functional impact.
- Producing clear, accurate and evidence-based assessment reports.
You’ll be assessing functional ability rather than diagnosing, prescribing or providing hands-on treatment.
What’s Waiting for You?
- Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm: Enjoy a consistent working week.
- No nights or weekends: Leave shift patterns and bank holiday working behind.
- Hybrid working: A combination of home and office-based work.
- Full-time and part-time opportunities: Flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
- Fully paid training: Receive structured training to help you transition into the role.
- No previous assessor experience required: Your existing clinical experience is what matters.
- Professional development: Build on your assessment, clinical reasoning and report-writing skills.
- Improved work-life balance: Enjoy a more predictable routine.
Are You the Right Fit? We’re looking for professionals who have:
- Full, active registration with the NMC, HCPC or GPhC.
- A professional background as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist.
- At least 12 months of post-registration clinical experience.
- Strong communication and written skills.
- Confidence applying clinical knowledge and making independent, evidence-based decisions.
- The ability to work independently and manage their own workload.
Please note: This vacancy is specifically for the registered healthcare professions listed above. Applications from Social Workers, Healthcare Assistants, Support Workers or other non-eligible professions will not meet the requirements.
Ready to Make Your Next Move? Take your clinical career in a different direction. Keep using the knowledge and skills you’ve developed while enjoying a new challenge and a more structured working week.
