Entry-Level Graduate Role: – Allocator -Fashion Industry
Carlisle, Cumbria Full-Time, Office-Based Monday to Friday
We’re working with a well-established national retailer to recruit a Graduate Allocator to join their Head Office team in Carlisle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with strong numerical and communication skills who is looking to start their career in Buying and Merchandising. Full training will be provided, along with a clear pathway for career development and progression.
The Role
Reporting to the Departmental Merchandiser, the Allocator will play a vital role in ensuring stock levels are accurate across both retail stores and online channels using an in-house system. You’ll handle day-to-day queries from stores and area management, supporting smooth stock flow and maintaining strong working relationships.
This is an ideal entry-level role for an ambitious graduate looking to develop a commercial career within a fast-paced retail head office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Buying and Merchandising teams with stock movement and trading strategies
- Use the Allocation and Replenishment system to:
- Set stock levels for stores
- Allocate new lines and monitor replenishment
- Complete price changes and raise orders
- Liaise with Stores and Suppliers on a daily basis
- Carry out data entry and maintain accurate records
- Support implementation of Range and Space Plans
Skills & Experience
- Degree-level education (numerical or analytical subject advantageous)
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised and able to work to deadlines
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Eager to learn, proactive, and keen to progress in a retail environment
