Job Summary
We are offering an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding Oncology team within a leading NHS Trust. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality cancer care to a diverse patient population.
About the Role
As a Specialty Doctor in Clinical Oncology, you will work alongside a dedicated team of 14 Consultant Oncologists, 7 Specialist Registrars, and 9 Specialty Doctors. The Oncology Department offers a comprehensive range of clinical, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy services, treating a wide spectrum of malignancies. The service supports a large population and delivers exceptional patient-centred care.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in Clinical Oncology within a supportive environment, with access to ongoing professional development and career progression.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality clinical care in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of oncology patients.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, and outpatient clinics.
- Work collaboratively with consultant oncologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the supervision and teaching of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Engage in audit, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance activities.
- Support the development of oncology services, with opportunities for involvement in research and innovation.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practise.
- At least four years of full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent), with at least two years in a relevant specialty.
- Experience in Acute Medical Care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Experience in Clinical Oncology across different clinical settings.
