Job Title: Site Maintenance Operative
Location: Wakefield
We are currently seeking a Site Maintenance Operative within a busy head office and distribution centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain all operational equipment to minimise downtime in the logistics operation.
- Carry out light repairs and decoration across the Grange Moor site as required.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, including CCTV, access control, and gate operations.
- Organise snow clearing and gritting during adverse weather conditions.
- Issue contractor permits, ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are in place, and monitor contractor compliance with site rules.
- Liaise with the help desk and external contractors to arrange larger repair works.
- Record weekly and monthly checks (e.g. sprinkler pumps, traffic lights, water temperatures).
- Conduct and record weekly fire checks across both sites.
- Provide out-of-hours response for maintenance emergencies when required.
- Cover holidays and sickness for other members of the maintenance team.
- Ensure all company Health & Safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Undertake any other ad hoc duties as directed by Facilities or Operations Managers.
You’ll be working primarily day shifts Monday to Friday , but flexibility is required to provide holiday cover and work on rotation when necessary.
