Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Rheumatology services to patients in line with NHS standards.
- Provide comprehensive care, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of rheumatological conditions.
- Supervise and support junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
- Actively engage in clinical governance, audit, and service improvement initiatives.
- Participate in research and clinical trials as appropriate.
- Provide cover for consultant colleagues during reasonable periods of leave.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- MBBS/MBCHB and MRCP (or equivalent qualification).
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- At least five years of supervised training in an appropriate specialist training programme in Rheumatology.
- Proven experience in delivering high-standard patient care.
- Experience in clinical audit and governance.
Desirable:
- Higher degree (MD/PhD) or equivalent.
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register (or within six months of CCT completion at the time of interview).
- Experience in service development and leadership.
